Delete messages app from ipad
How do I remove messages / iMessages app from ipad? Texting from my IPhone is all I need. I don’t like them on my iPad or computer.
Help! IJ’m understanding why people leave Apple for Android.

On your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to OFF
On your iPad (and Mac):
Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is disabled on the devices that you do not wish share received or sent messages:
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to OFF
After disabling iCloud messages, you can delete all the messages that you don’t wish to be visible on your iPad.
You might also wish to sign-out from Messages on the devices that you do not wish to use the Messages App:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > [AppleID] - tap your AppleID highlighted in small blue text, then tap Sign Out
On your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to OFF

The messaging app itself cannot be deleted (Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support).
But you can just sign out your AppleID in message settings and not use it.
HI LotusPilot, I have IOS 16.0.2 when I go to Settings > Messages I don’t see a “Text Message Forwarding” option.

Well enjoy your android device then.
Hi Micheal, I did the hide option for the app during the hold of the icon. And in Settings>Messages toggled of the on button. I hope this helps. It’s not that I dislike the app. I just don’t like the notifications or using it on my IPad.
Thank you for the help.
I guess I will with help and advice like this.
There is no need to delete it - I've never used that app and it is just there doing nothing.
