BBC iPlayer

Apple TV+ was great at the start. Netflix, Prime, everything on the up-next screen. A truly one-stop-shop for everything on your tv. Now all we are left with is TV+, Channel 4 and BBC programs.

Now here lies the problem. BBC iPlayer on TV+:

Subtitles do not work in either on/off or auto mode

Finish watching 1 program, but the audio continues when you are watching a new one. so you are listening to 2 programs at once

Press 'back' and you could be doing that 8, 10 times until you get back to the BBC start page.

I have reinstalled both updated everything and no improvement.

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 16

Netflix did never support the Apple TV app for inclusion of their content, except for Search of Netflix Originals.

Prime Video is supported in the Apple TV app for inclusion of Prime Originals and Prime-included titles, but not buy or rent or subscribe content.

This is an issue that the BBC acknowledges, and they appear to not be keen on adopting the standard MP4 subtitle formats that Apple TV supports. Why are there no subtitles on BBC iPlayer via Apple TV? - BBC iPlayer Help.
