iPhone displaying wrong number post PAC

Not so much a question rather a solution to my new phone has the wrong number attache… - Apple Community

Topic closed and I couldn't reply to it.

I changed my mobile SIM contract from BT to EE. My old number was successfully moved across according to EE messages but my iPhone was still displaying (Settings->Phone) the temporary number. So was the iCloud.com Apple ID configuration.

I tried solutions along the lines of signing out of message and FT on all devices. None of these worked.

My daughter contacted Apple with the same problem and the fix was super easy. Go to Settings->General->Reset iPhone->Reset->Reset Network Settings

And that was it.

That appears to have worked. However, when I make a call from contacts, it says "dial assist" and does not dial out. I also checked in Settings, under my name and my number is correct there.
