iPhone 14 Pro battery drain

When I did my research before making the decision to invest much more money than I could responsibly afford on the iPhone 14 Pro, one of the things I consistently read about was the amazing battery life. One site claimed they played video for 23 hours before it went flat. If that’s true, there must’ve been nothing else on the phone and played video offline, because my new phone dramatically drained as soon as I installed the first handful of apps. I feel totally misled on this. So I’ve done the usual things like toggling off background refresh, auto updates, lowering brightness etc, but it hasn’t made any difference which makes me think having all those things on must not trouble the battery much at all. I’m on WiFi and I’ve dropped 5% just while I’ve been writing this!

Does anybody know what the REAL culprit is? Please help a brother out.

Hello,

Hmm, I don't know (this is a user-to-user forum), but some things to consider:

With any new phone there are always maintenance and re-indexing tasks to be performed. It should settle down after awhile. These are the standard steps for short battery life:

1) Have you tried a restart?  If not, do it now.

2) Go to Settings > Battery > BATTERY USAGE BY APP to see the apps that are consuming your battery.

3) Check “Battery Health” in the link:

iPhone Battery and Performance

Good luck.
