iBooks page turn animation
Hi, do you think it’s possible to bring this feature back, even if an option? Also, it is very difficult to regulate brightness now. Before it was on top of the page. Now - do i have to go to settings?

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:
Apple had brought back the Book turn animation. You can find it in Books app -> Themes & Settings -> Find the option in the middle icon in the top right corner and choose ‘curl’
I just noticed this morning with iPadOS 16.4.1, the page turn automation in Apple iBooks was added back as an option. Thank you to Apple for responding to us!
To get to the option, click on the Options icon ( I have mine at the lower right side of the iBooks window). Select Themes & Settings. On the right hand side of that pop up window, you will see an icon that looks like a page turning. That is the “page curl” option. Click on that, you can choose slide, curl or none. To get back to the traditional page turn automation, select curl. Very cool.

I agree - this now feels like every other e-reader. I used to spend a few cents more to get a book for iBooks because the reading experience was good. Now I might as well just move my buisness to Amazon. Please restore the page turn animation!
Did you tell Apple?

Removing the page flip feature was the worse part about the new Books app. That is what made it fun to use the app. I loved the flip feature making it as if I was reading an actual book.

Yes - page turn available in 16.4.1 on iPhone and iPad - thank you very much.
Playfulness - at least as an option - sums it up, that real world interface that made it Apple from day 1
Lead don't follow
Thank you again
I am in complete agreement with you on the page turn animation. It was a defining joy over other ePub readers.
Now it’s jarring and I hate it. It’s like every other ePub reader now, no different from the Kindle app. This is not the Apple I’ve come to appreciate.
After hours of unpleasant UI with Apple Books app, installed Google Play Books application and continued reading, which gives a more real time experience of Reading. Apple disappointed the users with this update.
I had just 2 main reasons to buy the iPad Pro 12 inc - writing with Apple pencil and reading book with page turn animation - I am serious, page turn animation is that important to me. Its super frustrating, and annoying being a long term so called Apple "fan boy".
I couldn’t agree more lately all the Mac-ness is gone it seems like the os is morphing into windows. Steve Jobs is turning in his grave gone is all the intuitive features that always made working on my computer or device fun. Now it is a struggle and losing the page turning feature is so sad.

This feature needs to return, I refuse to read pdf styled books. Really bad innovation on apples part feels like going through documents. No enjoyment of reading whatsoever.
Tell Apple:

You need to bring back the page-turning animation in Books. I won’t be buying any more books from there until you do. You have ruined it. Unilaterally. It’s a pain in the arse-how many other products can you buy where the manufacturer can STILL completely change the product two years after you’ve bought it so that it no longer does some of the things you bought it for in the first place? Gah.
How is the "You" you're attempting to address? No one reading or participating in this forum can make any changes to the app. If you want the cognizant parties at Apple to know your thoughts, use the feedback link:

I find it very hard to believe that Apple does not monitor these forums for feedback. For one, Apple occasionally brands answers as “approved.” For two, no company as successful as Apple would ignore such an awesome source of user data.
You may have trouble believing it, but it's true. The folks who mark a post as "Apple Recommended" are the Hosts/Community Specialists, the Apple employees who run the forums. They recommend posts based on how well they answer the question.
It would be a Sisyphean labor to sort through a forum of this size for useful feedback. It's one of the largest, busiest group of forums (there are multiple forums in multiple languages) of its kind. That is why Apple has provided a dedicated feedback page.
You can spend time posting here on why you think that Apple should read your feedback here. Or, you can spend the same time posting your feedback where they WILL read it. Or both, if that's what makes you happy.
I also hate the new page turn, because of that I stopped using the iBooks and switched to google play books and the page turn is so much better
