iBooks page turn animation
Hi, do you think it’s possible to bring this feature back, even if an option? Also, it is very difficult to regulate brightness now. Before it was on top of the page. Now - do i have to go to settings?

i just opened the Apple Books app since updating and seriously can't express the extreme negative feelings I am feeling right now from this change! I NEED THIS ANIMATION BACK PLEASE!
I just opened the books app for the first time today and that was literally the defining feature of Apple Books and why I chose it over other platforms... Now it's just like everything else and has sucked the joy out of reading on my phone... literally, the joy is gone!
Actually the Kindle App on my iPad has a nice page turn. Apple are clearly driving us in Amazon's direction! Simply open a book in the Kindle app, tap on the current page, select the Aa icon at the top, then click More, then scroll to the bottom and toggle on Page Turn Animation.
I agree - this now feels like every other e-reader. I used to spend a few cents more to get a book for iBooks because the reading experience was good. Now I might as well just move my buisness to Amazon. Please restore the page turn animation!
You need to bring back the page-turning animation in Books. I won’t be buying any more books from there until you do. You have ruined it. Unilaterally. It’s a pain in the arse-how many other products can you buy where the manufacturer can STILL completely change the product two years after you’ve bought it so that it no longer does some of the things you bought it for in the first place? Gah.
Removing the page flip feature was the worse part about the new Books app. That is what made it fun to use the app. I loved the flip feature making it as if I was reading an actual book.
Heck they can't even make it so you can organize your library into sub-categories either such as main being say like WAR with subs underneath such as World War I, World War II, War of 1812, etc. Nothing is more annoying to have tons of books of different categories all into one. Sure you can make separate collections but then you would have A LOT of collections listed. I mean look how a simple app such as Bookari lets you do what you want with subcollections. What is SO hard about setting up Books like this? This feature WOULD make Books a SOLID app to have.
Japanese comics. they also read from right to left, so the 'spine' of the book is on the right. They display like that in Apple Books too. so I wonder they just haven't 'updated' this different format yet
Hey thanks Apple! the hallmark of Apple in my view has always been a fun way of representing the real world on a virtual platform. The trash can the folders, the playfulness of it all... In my opinion it is getting lost. I hope you will bring it back
I find it very hard to believe that Apple does not monitor these forums for feedback. For one, Apple occasionally brands answers as “approved.” For two, no company as successful as Apple would ignore such an awesome source of user data.
We've gotten pretty good at gaining useful and significant insights from large stashes of text in the last few years. Maybe you've heard of LLMs?
Also, with a company as large and powerful as Apple, common decency would lead them to review multiple sources for customer satisfaction, not just a cumbersome feedback portal. It would also make way more sense, if their goal is to make an excellent user experience (and wouldn't you agree that it is?), to review the fora where users are seeking help for problems.
In any event, I'll just leave it with this-there are few (as far as I am aware, zero) instances of this oft-repeated answer that sport the "Apple Recommended" badge.
Thank you. I submitted feedback through the proper channel
Really thinking of moving to other epub readers now. The only reason I have moved to ebooks since two years was because of the real-time experience I have got in Apple Books. Now Apple took it away.
Wow that setting is really buried down in there but thanks for showing me. I’ve turned it on and it’s kindle books for me on out!
What started my love for Apple since the iPad 2 it was iBooks. Now, it’s died before my eyes. I regret updating the iPad mini 6 as I now have to read on my old iPad mini 3 where I can turn pages.
This feature needs to return, I refuse to read pdf styled books. Really bad innovation on apples part feels like going through documents. No enjoyment of reading whatsoever.
