Time Machine & iCloud

I have a Mac mini and & MBP. I use iCloud to share my Calendar and the contents of my iCloud drive. This works well for me :-) I use a Time Machine to back up the 2 devices - surely there's no point in my backing up the contents of the iCloud drive on the Time Capsule?

There is if you wish to retain a backup. iCloud is primarily a synchronization service, not a true backup.

If you optimize your storage, any file not present on your Mac will not be backed up.
