Is there a way to shorten list of previous directories when right-click on Finder icon?

Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click General.

look for "Recent items" select/choose desired lower value.

If it didn't take immediate effect try logoff & login to check.

Finder used to have pathname as title I suppose it's hopeless but it would be really nice if there was some way to have the pathname of the directory at the top of Finder above all the little icons. In 10.13 for example it was easy to see what directory Finder was showing; the whole pathname was visible with all the buttons underneath. Now, in Ventura a little bit of the pathname is visible on the same space as all the little buttons; you have to hover over it to see it. With lots of Finder windows up this is a real nuisance. I can't find any setting that would make it the way I want, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

Is there a way to make Finder window “Show All” folders by default? Whenever I open a finder window, I always have to click on Show All to expand the view. I do not see any option to do this in View>Show View Options. Any other way? Thanks

Ah ha! No replies. Only been a few hours, but ... experience, which is no predictor of the future, anecdotally says, no answer = cannot be done. We shall see.

You'd think I would recall setting the number to 50, but I did not. Thank you, problem solved.
