Mail, auto-reply

Hi,

From a certain sender i get emails i don't want to ignore but reply with an auto-reply message directing them to my lawyer's email address.

In iCloud I can not find such an option. In iCloud's "Auto-Reply" you can only have an auto-reply set up which replies to all senders of incoming mail.

In "Rules" in iCloud actions are limited, like move to folder i.e. (Not an auto-reply option).

It is possible though in my Mail preferences - "Rules" on my iMac. I can set up rules with the settings i want:

I can choose "Add Rule", choose "From", choose "Contains", choose "Reply to Message" and then "Reply Message Text". (Fill out the desired auto-reply text in a seperate window and click ok). This is not an issue to set up.

The issue is that NO auto-reply from me is actually send to the sender (I have tested several times).

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

In iCloud:

"Auto-Reply"

"Rules"

In Mail preferences on iMac:

"Rules"

Hello Arnie M,

It looks like the iCloud email service currently does not have an option like that. The only automatic reply option available is one that sends the reply to any messages you receive.

Set up an automatic reply in Mail on iCloud.com

If you'd like to suggest an option where you can setup an auto reply to only send to one specific person, you can submit that to Apple through their feedback site: Product Feedback

Cheers!
