Wife's iMac 3.4 GHz Quad-core only has 8 GB of memory and she wants me to add more. 16? 32? As of now, her browsing is slow and she is frustrated. No gaming, just browsing, music, pics, etc...any recommendations are appreciated. Her OS is Ventura 13.0

Upgrading to an SSD will make a world of difference. 16GB would also be good, but secondary to an SSD upgrade (this assumes the iMac does not already have NVMe (aka internal SSD) storage.
If replacing the internal rotating hard disk is not an option, then an external SSD as the boot device can be a viable option.

FWIW, Ventura likes 16GB or more. My iMac Pro has 32GB and it's fine. However, you should post an EtreCheck report as BDAqua suggests. The speed issue may not be a RAM problem.
Fastest least resource hungry Browser I've found is Brave, it's Chrome Browser without google & without Ads...
