Time stamp

sometimes when I switch my phone on I may get text messages. However, the time stamp is simply the same as the time that my phone received it. If I swipe left the time revealed is the same as the delivery time. Unless the sender includes the date & time, of writing, how can I determine when it was sent?

You can’t. The time stamp will always be the time the iPhone received the message. The only manual way to find out the time when the message was sent is by contacting the sender and asking.
