Using Open Office, /save or export the document as an MS Excel .xlsx format file.
Open the .xlsx file using Numbers.
Note that the file will have gone through a translation (by Open Office) and a second translation by Numbers during this process. The Numbers may have a different apearance then the OO original, and may not have transferred formulas using functions not implemented in Numbers.

Until declared, I think we're safe to stick with 'it,' even in regions where "We are not amused" is a long-standing correct usage, when spoken by a specific individual (or their successors). :)
