AirPods Pro 2 poor mic quality on WhatsApp + Voice memos on iPhone + Macbook Pro 2019

Hello,

I'm experiencing distorted voice recording when recording WhatsApp voice notes and the Voice memos app(on both iPhone and MBP) with Airpod Pro 2. The voice is severely terrible even I'm unable to comprehend what I've said in the voice note. However, they work fine on network calls and on the FB messenger app.

I'm not sure if my AirPods pro 2 is faulty or if it is a known fault with this gen AirPods. In a local community, a few of my fellows have experienced the same issues with their AirPods pro and pro 2 models.

Does anyone also experience similar issues and found any support/solution?

For help with the microphone on your AirPods, test switching the microphone to either side and testing. The steps found in the article here can assist: Change the settings of your AirPods and AirPods Pro

If the issue continues, complete a reset of your AirPods with the steps here: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro

It's also recommended to clean your AirPods. How to clean your AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods - Apple Support
