I am crazy, or did the ‘select all’ button disappear with latest update? Why would this be a choice??

my email app seems to have lost ‘select all’ functionality…the only fast way of marking multiple emails as read or whatnot I can use is swiping down the list on the left. I cannot figure out how to select all as button no longer appears on top right and I haven’t been able to find it. Googled the problem and it took me to a apple forum page clearly showing where the button should be. What am I missing?? They cannot have actually gotten rid of that function?

Which email app are you using?

In the Apple Mail app, the Select All button still appears by selecting EDIT at the Top right of an email list. Once EDIT is selected then SELECT ALL appears at the Top Left. Note, that this is in the Inbox of the Apple Mail app on the iPhone running iOS version 16.
