ios16.1.1 compatable with old and new devices?

Hi,

I have Iphone12mini and iPad Pro and also a mac mini late 2012 with Catalina

If I install iOS 16.1.1 will my Mac still be able to recognise my newer devices.

Everything currently works well with the last ios 15.7.1

Update for connecting iPhone? Will the update for connecting iPhone be specific for that or will it attempt to install new OS? I am running Big Sur 11.7.1 on an older Air.

does ios 16.5.1 synch with mac os 10.15.7 Does ios 16.5.1 synch with mac os 10.15.7. I back up my iPhone 12 to my macbook pro 13 (mid 2012) running Catalina 10.15.7. I cannot update the MacBook pro beyond that. The current IOS update is to 16.5.1. Does this synch with the Catalina 10.15.7? I saw a blurb on the internet that says for Catalina go to 16.5. There were no more details. I have been burned in the past by upgrading beyond the capability of a Mac OS. I hope to avoid that. What I have seen on the Apple website is device compatibility, but not operating system compatibility. Thank you.

Yes, your mac mini late 2012 with Catalina will still recognise your newer devices with iOS 16.1.1 and/or iPadOS 16.1.1.
