What if your fingerprint is not recognizable?

My wife is the user of our iPad. It cannot recognize her fingerprints. This is no doubt partly because her skin is dry and worn. She does not have much of a fingerprint. Sometimes she is stymied trying to complete an action because no alternative is offered.

Which iPad Air M2 cases are compatible with Touch ID? I bought a great cover for my new iPad 11” M2 iPad and immediately had issues with the Touch ID working. I have been locked out several times because it won’t read my fingerprint. It’s a bad design flaw. Any solutions that work? I tried adding a fingerprint with the case on and it doesn’t work because it says I’m not covering the button with my fingerprint. Face ID on my iPhone works great so I’m frustrated that it’s not an option. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If your wife has difficulty with TouchID, you can simply disable the feature by removing all registered fingerprints - after which, the iPad will default to using Passcode authentication.
