Find My iPhone will not work

I was looking for my phone which i was just using, I went to play sound on the Find My app and realized that its location hasn't updated since last night and is stuck on where I was on the highway in a vehicle. I've tried fixing this myself with forum help, I have checked my iPhone map, the time is set automatically, im using correct iCloud accounts on both my Mac and iPhone, turned off and on airplane mode, both devices connect to wifi and mobile and are connected now. This is a problem I have never faced with Find my before. Only reason I can think why it's affected is because I updated to Ventura at the same time while I was away. Thanks for any help

Hello ahean7,

Thanks for reaching out to us in Apple Support Communities about Find My not updating. We're happy to help by looking into this more!

Here's a resource that can help: If Find My is offline or not working - Apple Support

1. Check that you signed in to iCloud on your device: Tap Settings. If you see "Sign in to your [device]," tap it and enter your Apple ID and password.
2. Make sure that you signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on all of your devices.
3. Check that the device has a cellular or Wi-Fi network connection. If it does and you still can't see it in Find My, turn Airplane Mode on and off. Still not seeing it in Find My? Restart your device
4. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time. Check that Set Automatically is on.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.

ahean7,

If you tried the steps previously suggested and you're still not seeing an updated location for your iPhone, you'll want to continue by making sure it's updated to the latest iOS version, which is iOS 16.1.1. You can check that in Settings > General > About > Software Version. If needed, learn how to update your iPhone here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If the issue persists beyond that, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support directly. They're best-equipped to take a closer look and provide some additional guidance. This link will help you get started: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care.
