Can I charge my Air M2 with the Thunderbolt cable from my LG monitor ?

Do I have to use the MagSafe connector to charge the Air M2 or can it always be charged with the Thunderbolt cable from my LG monitor ?

It can be charged with a Thunderbolt/USB-C cable no problem. It will be slower to charge than through the MagSafe connector though.

Any reasons you don't want to use the MagSafe cable?

Actually I prefer to use the MagSafe cable but when I connect the LG monitor the laptop starts to charge automatically with the Thunderbolt/USB-C cable, and it worries me that this will affect the battery life.

It should not affect the battery. The Mac control's its own charging. It cannot be overcharged.
