Hi Mollybadbish,

Thank you for raising your question with the Apple Support Community.

It sounds like you are having trouble visiting the website: icloud.com on your MacBook with Safari. At the moment, I can currently visit icloud.com on my MacBook with Safari and Apple's System Status page reports iCloud is functional: Apple - Support - System Status

Could you please ensure the following:

  • Check you can open the "Apple ID" page in the Mac Settings app
  • You have restarted your Mac.

Let us know how you get on with this information. If you are not successful after following these steps, could you share a screenshot of the error you are getting please.

Kind regards,

adh77

Hi Mollybadbish,

Thank you for your prompt feedback. It seems that there is something blocking some websites but not others.

The quickest way you can determine if your Mac or your internet service is causing this issue is to open icloud.com on another device. Do you have another device to open icloud.com?

Could you check the following please:

  • Verify you are not connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network)
  • Verify you are not connected to the internet through a proxy
  • You mention you are connected to a private network, can you confirm with me that you are referring to your own network such as home Wi-Fi and not an organisation such as work or school?

Let me know your feedback on this information. If you are unsure of anything or you think I am misunderstanding your issue let me know.

Kind regards,

adh77
