Is Wi-Fi calling better than mobile calling on Apple iPhone 8

“Better” is relative. If you have a fast Wi-Fi connection then Wi-Fi calling will use less energy than using the cellular network. And if you are roaming, such as in another country, Wi-Fi calls don’t count against your roaming usage plan with your carrier. And if your cellular signal is weak (~1 bar) a Wi-Fi call will generally be clearer.


The downside is that if you are not connected to a strong Wi-Fi signal the call quality will be lower, and if you have no Wi-Fi it will revert to the cellular network.
