The supported HP drivers for the LaserJet 1020 are for Windows and Linux only.
However, with earlier macOS versions, an HP LaserJet 1022 driver 1.6.1 for Mac (in a package download from Apple) has been reported to work with the HP LaserJet 1020. See HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update and Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. This could perhaps be worth a try even with your printer and computer, despite the system requirements limitation, but would be entirely experimental.
Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera) if you decide to perform tests with drivers.
If necessary, reset the printing system before tests.
