How does one set up Read receipts for texts for individuals numbers?
My partner wants to see I've read a text (it's important to their communication needs), but I don't want anyone else to see read receipts.

We understand that you want to set up read receipts, such as discussed at Set up Messages on iPhone - Apple Support, but only for a specific contact. If you open the Message thread of your partner and click on their image at the top, you should see a toggle for Send Read Receipts.
