What can be done about the overly sensitive trackpad on the 2022 MacBook Air? Setting the sensitivity to "Firm" is not nearly enough. Inadvertent gestures too easily create misinterpreted response.

Hey Robert Stengel,

Does this issue happen with all apps or just certain apps? Also, did you make sure that your Mac is running the latest version of macOS? If not, let's check by following the steps from here: Update macOS on Mac

If the issue persists, let's try this while you're running your Mac under safe mode. Here's how you can start up your Mac in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Let us know how it goes!

Best regards.

My OS is up to date. The overly sensitive trackpad problem occurs with every app and in Finder on the Desktop. Minor, inadvertent motions switch open windows, lines of text are selected without my intent but obviously due to the Force Touch "feature," and all while Click is selected as Firm. If I'm not careful, I'll lose work because of the trackpad hypersensitivity. This was not a problem with my older MacBook Air, whose trackpad was not force sensitive.

I don't need or want enhanced gesture control. The simple fix is to make Firm much firmer, but I don't think that I have that option.
