MacBook Air M2 camera flickering.

Hello, I was using my camera today for a google meet, I realised the camera is flickering! The last time I used it was 3 weeks ago and it was fine. I have a MacBook Air M2. This problem is happening in all the apps that require the use of a camera. Thank you

MacBook Air, macOS 13.0

Hi naelS,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We noticed that you recently reviewed If your built-in camera isn’t working on your Mac - Apple Support which is the best resource to start with for this issue. Were you able to reset the SMC and take the other steps from that article? What happened when you tried those steps?

Try running one of these apps in safe mode, if possible. Starting in safe mode can help isolate issues since it will prevent some software from loading. To access safe mode, use the guidance from How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.

"Apple silicon

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
  3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
  4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.
  2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window."

If the same does not occur in safe mode, there may be an issue with a login item. The remaining sections of that article will guide you on how to proceed.

All the best.
