Nightstand mode not working

I set both my watch and phone for nightstand mode and it doesn’t work. Stays on for a few secs then goes dark. How do I fix this?

In Nightstand mode (Bedside Mode in the UK) yes it goes dark after a few seconds.

Tap the watch or tap the nightstand and it will come on for a few seconds. That is how it is designed.

Even higher spec Watches with Always On Display do not glow all night.

it says

"When you connect your Apple Watch to its charger with nightstand mode turned on, it displays charging status, the current time and date, and the time of any alarm you’ve set. To see the time, tap the display or lightly nudge your Apple Watch. Even nudging or tapping the table might work."

Do you have an Apple link where it says it displays constantly?

Thanks for correcting Apple’s misinformation. They CLEARLY state that the watch, in this mode, stays on! Shame on Apple for making false claims! Will they send an update download so this watch is truly a watch that can be an always on night clock?
