The Serial number my Airpods Max have applecare+ coverage for differs from the serialnumber on my headphone pair

Hi all,

I have bought a pair of Airpods Max from Amazon.

When I initially wanted to purchase Applecare+ I couldn't do it because you can only get Applecare+ for a limited amount of days and then the option goes away.

Since I bought the Airpods Max a week from when I wanted to buy Applecare+, Apple manually changed it for me so I could get the coverage.

Maybe then something went wrong because now that I want to bring my Airpods Max in for the reparation of connectivity issues I have noticed that the serialnumber in my Airpods Max differs from the one of my Applecare+ order confirmation.

Stupidly I have disconnected and forgotten my Airpods Max from all devices because I hoped that reconnecting from scratch with no data attached would solve the connectivity problems.

Does anyone know if this happens more often and If I should be worried with getting them replaced?

The serial numbers are competely different, not even closely similar and I have sent the Apple support mails of me confirming the serial number before buying the Airpods Max so hopefully that is stored somewhere.

Thanks a lot in advance.
