Why is my user folder gendered?

My USERS folder shows up in Terminal as "Users" but in finder it has been gendereised to "Benutzer:innen" (male-female user in German)

I really dont want to know why this sillyness is part of a OS, only how can I change the name displayed in finder to just Benutzer, like the last 20 years.

If your system language is set to German, the user interface is using the new terms "Benutzer:innen", "Autor:innen", "Künstler:innen", "Komponist:innen", etc. throughout the user interface, since macOS 12. There has been a flood of posts requesting a system setting, to allow us to be able to set the language of the user interface to a standard German orthography in the German Offizielle Apple Support Community, but I would not add to this. Any new thread on this topic will very likely be closed by the moderators with a polite comment (see: Gendern - Apple Community). It would be better to write directly to Apple with a feature request using the feedback form.
