iMessages not syncing between MacBook Pro and iPhone

I've read tons of threads like this and tried multiple solutions, but ended up here anyway. I recently changed my password for my '.me' email account. After doing so, my Apple Watch suddenly wanted the updated password I created too. Since then, my messages have not been syncing between my MacBook Pro (MBP) (using OS Monterey) and my iPhone 12 Pro Max (iOS 16.1.1). I tried:

iPhone: Settings > Messages > iMessage > switched off

MBP: iMessage > Preferences > iMessage (next to General) > Enable Messages in iCloud turned off

I restarted both devices and then re-enabled the above. It took some time for test texts to change from a green text to a blue iMessage. Later, anything I deleted from my iPhone DID delete from my MBP, however, nothing I deleted from my MPB in turn deleted from my iPhone. What am I doing wrong?

On the iDevice >> Setting >> General >> Messages and make sure Text Forwarding is enabled.

In the same spot on the iDevice >> Setting >> General >> Messages and make sure the Apple Computer is Listed by Name and enabled

Thank you P. I did have that already selected, however, for whatever reason the synchronization started back as normal since last evening. I could only assume that iCloud needed to catch up to balance both devices. I do now have both my MBP and iPhone iMessages able to delete simultaneously from either device.

Thanks again for your time and input.
