Why is my Yahoo mail not downloading from server all of a sudden? Showing account error, but Yahoo app is fine and mail can be accessed. I have already contacted Apple support and tried deleting account etc but they suggested it is Yahoo…I do not think this is the case as this happened since iOS 16 update

You will have to remove and add the Yahoo account again to the Mail app. Be sure to use the App Specific Password that you can obtain for your Yahoo mail account. More information on app specific password here 👉 How to obtain an app specific password for Yahoo mail.

I am not suggesting that. Yahoo is. You can always sign on to Yahoo on a website with the password of your choice. This should already be in place. The App Specific password is then generated for each mail app that retrieves mail from Yahoo.

What exactly is the “account error”?

Checking for mail keeps trying, then Account error: my email address, then cannot get mail box (connection to server failed)
I have already deleted yahoo account and reinstalled - are you suggesting a completely new password and that it as to be generated,not my own choice?
