Unable to print colour

I have a MacBook Air with Catalina 10.15.7 Out of the blue I can no longer print in colour. I've followed lots of advice and I've changed my print cartridges. It's a new printer. I got a new printer because I thought the lack of colour was a printer fault but its the same with the new one. I'm sure there used to be an option when printing in Word to choose colour or b/w but that is not there. I can't find any settings with colour options.

Hello Heatheruth,

Check out Print documents from your Mac which shows what your Print dialog may look like. As you can see there should be check box available for "Black & White." To print in color, you'll just leave the box unchecked.

Icons in the Printer pop-up menu indicate the printer’s status. The Print dialog shows a small preview of your print job. Click the Show Details button to see all print options.

  • "B & W (or Black and White): Select to print in black and white, if your printer has this capability."

The options available in the Print dialog may vary depending on the app you're using. If you're not seeing this option when using Word, try printing from a different app to see if the option is available. This will help us isolate things a bit more.

Regards.
