Why do updates change the way my phone operates?

I need some where to vent since I updated iphone SE to 16.1… it changes things that are very annoying and ph has a mind of its own sometimes. I use to like my phone. Now I don’t even know how to change my wallpaper on home screen without changing the Lock Screen. Why change something that works? Thats not the only thing that’s different so far but I just want to know why it changes things when you update ? Isn’t updates for security and such? Help me out here

Smart Phones neither have the intelligence nor the hostility. Hence we need to look at our device settings and the way we synchronise our smartphones with Mac/PC/iCloud and also how careful are we in sharing our sensitive and valuable pieces of information with friends and family members.

Be careful when sharing the device's sensitive and valuable information with friends and family members.

Thumb Rules:

  1. Enable Guided Access before handing over an iPhone to kids or to a stranger.
  2. Don't share Apple IDs
  3. Don't Jailbreak
  4. Don't share sensitive information pertaining to your device and payment methods
  5. Beware of Phishing
  6. Do not leave your iPhone unlocked and unattended in public places like offices, schools, malls etc.

NoLiesplz ~ In order to enhance iPhone with new features, it's inevitable that some current ways of working have to change. Let Apple know what changes you don't like here:

As you mentioned 'wallpaper', I like the new live weather feature: "Glance at live conditions on your Lock Screen as the weather changes throughout the day." ...Here's sunrise, mid-morning and night:
