Can’t share or collaborate Notes since upgrading both phones to 16.1.1. Worked ok before.

Normally share an interactive weekly schedule with one other person. Worked fine prior to us both upgrading to 16.1.1. Now we get a message “Collaboration not available, “unable to start collaboration”. I have been through Apples checklist for this problem but nothing applies. Sharing Calendars works fine. Any suggestions?
