iphone and ipad wifi issues with starlink

Hello, looking for assistance with troubleshooting my wifi issues. I have had starlink for almost a year and no issues until a few days ago. I have several iphones and ipads that continually drop wifi signal and will not reconnect or get message of "incorrect password" when attempting to connect back with internet. I have alexa devices and LAN connected devices that have no issues. I have reset the starlink router, reset network on iphone, restarted devices, "forgot network" and nothing seems to resolve the issue. I have determined it is an apple issue with starlink router. The odd thing is that sometimes the apple devices will randomly connect to the wifi, but will disconnect just as quickly. Has anyone experienced similar issues lately?

I live in remote area and only have starlink for internet, so no option for backup. Thank you.

Check your WiFi Router / Modem for --> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points ...

Connecting to Wifi is the first part and then getting connected to the Internet is the second

  1. If you connect to Wifi, doesn't necessarily mean you are connected to the internet. If you are not connected to wifi could be a problem with iPhone settings or Router/Modem Settings
  2. If you are not connected to the internet is the sole issue of Router / Modem Settings. Contact your ISP immediately

For your Internet connection.

  • Over Cellular: contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider). The agency who issued the SIM to you
  • Over WiFI: Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider), the agency who provided the Internet Service on your Modem/Router to you

I have the same problem, only with apple devices. PC, Laptop, Harmony, Alexa, Phillips hue, Security cams, you name it - all are working without a hitch. Separated the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. Works better but not without failure.

I've noticed that flicking the apple device to 'flight mode' and back reconnects the device in most cases. Otherwise reboot the apple device. Annoying.

Hi, the issue seemed to "fix" itself for awhile but came back yesterday. My iPhone 8 plus wouldn't connect to my Starlink network. The LTE is so bad in my area I needed to plug the phone into the PC and download the newest iOS.

After it was installed on the phone I followed all the different possible fixes you can find with a Google search and I was able to connect to the network using the password as I originally did the first time I connected. Can't say definitely that the newer iOS was the fix but as of 12:00 last night, no issues with network.

If it makes any one feel any better, about once a week one or more of my 3 devices, MB Pro, iPad, iPhone, loses connectivity. They will all be connected to the Starlink router, but one or more will say "No Internet Connection" on the device settings. Simultaneously, one of them will remain connected to Starlink and Internet with no problems at blazing speed (literally top speed on the Starlink Speed Test as well as Ookla).

During this time, all of my devices are within 5 feet of the router all the time. If I check the Starlink App on the devices that are having issues, they will indicate not connected, but if I try to connect, they will not connect. All the while, the MacBook pro for example, will be chugging away, no problems.

I've done a lot of troubleshooting (Starlink Reboots, router resets, devices network settings resets, etc..) on this with no success at finding a cure;). If I do nothing, they will all reconnect at some point, albeit with no real consistency.

I don't think it is a Device qty issue because we've had 15+ devices connected before and several of them streaming live movies, youtube, etc... with no issues. But normally we have 3 to 5 with light usage going, no problems.

Anyway, sharing is caring;)

Good Luck!

Starlink worked perfectly on my IPHONE 11. Upgraded last week to a 14 Pro and it worked great until it fell off my seat and the back broke. Took to Apple and they replaced everything except the camera and glass. Came back to my RV and found the phone either won't connect to the Starlink router or it will not stay connected. Frequently get password is wrong even though it is correct. Then it will connect but then disconnect after a minute or 2. Sometimes it is connected and says no internet connection. In the mean time my 2 apple TV devices and 2 ipads are happily connected with blazing speed. Apple store told me it is not their problem, even though it didn't become my problem until after they repaired the phone. Anyone figured this out yet?

Wondering if your loading the newest iOS solved the problem?

I just hooked up our StarLink yesterday and everything was great...maybe too great. Today, my work assigned Windows driven laptop connect fine and has good bandwidth.

My newer MacBookPro equaly strong connection an bandwidth.

The older iPhone (6s) shows it's connected to the starlink site (checked in the Wifi Settings screen) as well as displays a strong signal, again in the Wifi Settings screen. At the same time, the signal indicators at the top of the iPhone screen (cellular strength and wifi), displays the ever spinning slinky.

Thoughts?

Appreciate any help in alleviating the frustration,

Obakasan

Yes indeed..... I can only echo what you have described up top. Living semi rural I relay on my Iphone to connect indoors on the phone. It's switching onto wifi maybe twice a day for a few seconds. This has not happened since I have installed Starlink approx 14 months ago. (when it first came out). I have spoken to an Apple tech....who cannot help me. I have also reset settings, wifi and then everything on the iphone. My laptop has no problem with wifi - going well. This is not only infuriating, but I am now losing business. Why is this happening (?) and can anyone more tech minded than me please help me. Thanks.

Sandra
