Thank you for the screenshot.
Updating an iPhone X:

Cellular Getting on the Way:
Updating Using Cellular is not an option for your model. See my User Tip: Use an iPhone 12, that is using 5G in order to update over Cellular - User Tip

Looking at your screenshot......you are trying to update using an LTE cellular connection.
That won't work......you need a good strong Wi-Fi signal with a good Internet connection.
Make sure that the battery is fully charged as well. Better if you leave the power adapter connected to the phone during the update process.
My problem is not with the Cellular or Wi-Fi. The settings app literally freezes when I’m trying to enter the Software Update. That’s what I’m worried about. Immediately I tap on Software Update, the app just freezes.

It's probably prepping for it.
Have you tried killing the Settings app? Restarting the phone?
I have restarted the phone a couple times but the problem still persists.
What about killing the Settings app?
Yeah. Done that too. Countless times actually
