I am receiving messages that Google Drive no longer supports High Sierra and recommends I install OS Mohave. My Mac is a mid 2011 model with 15 gigs of memory & 404.48 gig of storage. Can I upgrade or will this be a problem.

Yes that is a problem, because a Mid 2011 iMac can not be upgraded past 10.13 High Sierra.

Sadly if you need to run a later macOS, then you will need a new or newer iMac.
