Wifi calling no longer working

We have Verizon and very poor service in our home. We have been using Wifi calling for over 3 years very successfully as we cannot maintain a call over our cell service. About a month ago both my husband and I can no longer successfully use our wifi calling on both our iPhones. The call might start successfully then drop within 30 seconds. We might stay online and can hear the recipient of the call, but they cannot hear me. It almost always starts with a connection and drops very quickly. I have researched and tried all solutions short of completely resetting the iPhone. I have turned it off and on, reset all wifi connections. We even went out and purchased new routers in the event this was the case. Upon researching, I noted one instance where it said this was a problem after upgrading to IOS 16.1. My phone is fully upgraded, so wondering if this is a problem and if it will be fixed. It doesn't appear to be a microphone issue. The phone works great on cellular data when we have a good connection and it is happening to both my husband and I, only when we are using wifi calling. Any suggestions? If it is a bug is apple going to fix it?

Hi KQDBJS,

We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you are experiencing issues with Wi-Fi calling.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Have you had the chance to try Wi-Fi calling on a different known-good Wi-Fi network?

We ask because you've already performed some steps to troubleshoot and isolate the issue, and it sounds like you are experiencing a connectivity-related issue.

Also, let’s check for a software update and make sure that you are running the latest version of iOS 16.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest software version for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Kindly secure a backup and update.

Our WiFi was not the issue. I even purchased new routers which didn't help. We installed the new update which just came out a few days ago, and the problem seems to have abated. However, when speaking to my husband while he was at home he indicated that he had 4 bars on cell service, so I cannot be certain that the phone was actually using wifi calling at the time. When he moved around in the house we lost connection off and on. We will see how this continues. Hopefully Apples latest update fixed this problem.
