Delayed Find My updated

my sister lost her phone. we’re on a family account where i am the administrator. we have been getting live updates throughout the day but they’re two hours behind ( example - it’s 7:30pm and it showing me where the phone was at 5:30pm and at 2pm i knew where the phone was at 12pm) so my question is — if we’re receiving new locations/updates on where the phone was why are we getting them two hours later? like if somewhere it register the phones location at 5:30pm why wasn’t i able to view it at 5:30pm (meanwhile at that time i could see the location at 3:30pm vs it’s live location that i received later at 7:30pm) ??

Might the phone be in a different time zone?

Beware of a common phishing scam: You may get a text or email from “Apple” or “Apple Security” (or sometimes “Police”) saying your phone has been found and to click on a link to see its location. This is NEVER from Apple or from law enforcement; it is from the thief or fence to steal your Apple ID and identity. Delete any such message without responding to it. Apple never gets involved in lost or stolen devices→Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams

And is the time zone on the phone set correctly? The 2 hour difference is suspicious. did you have VPN enabled on the phone? That can result in the phone appearing to be in a different time zone.
