Notes became erratic after iPad OS 15.7.1

After updating to iPadOS 15.7.1 Notes has become erratic, especially when switching apps or when searching.

When switching apps the insertion point jumps away from prior location to a new location.

When searching in a Note, tapping in the text or starting to select text will cause the screen to jump to a new location. This can happen during dragging to select text after a find if the attempted selection causes an auto scroll.

Also seeing instances of URLs in a note extending beyond the text into adjacent blank lines where taps will launch the URL.

There is also still no integration between searching for text in different notes and searching for text inside a note. Finding instances of a search key in a longer note requires a second inter-note search after an intra-note search finds candidate notes.

After ANY iOS/iPadOS upgrade/update, you should ALWAYS perform a simple hard reset/forced restart of your Apple mobile device.

For iPad models with a Home button, do a simple hard reset/forced restart of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake/power button simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

OR

For much newer design iPad models, without a Home button, try the new simple hard reset/forced restart procedure for the new 2018-2022 iPad Pros, 2020/21 iPad Air 4 and 5, the 2021 iPad Mini 6 models and the new 2022,,10th gen base models,

1. Press and release the volume button closest to the top Power button

2. Then immediately press and release the volume button farthest from the top Power button.

3. Then, press and hold the top single sleep/wake/power button You will see the Slide to Power off button, but keep on holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo, then let it go.

Once you have performed all the steps, wait for a few seconds and your 2018-2022 iPad will boot up completely to the iPad’s Lock screen.

Done multiple times, no help.

Whats more Keynote is showing erratic behavior too. Being able to copy and paste slides disappears at times on Keynote. Restarting app or the iPad brings it back to full functionality.

But thats never helped with Notes.

I continue to get unexpected multi-paragraph page jumps when searching or sometimes just selecting or pasting text.

The insertion point cursor consistently reverts back to the last text selection rather than the last location when switching back into Notes from another app even after resets/restarts.

Another erratic behavior I’ve seen in notes is the magnified selection ‘peep-hole’ is persisting after it should have gone away.

Will there be another iOS 15 update to correct these erratic behaviors?

Do these same issues happen in iOS 16?
