Christmas Card List in Contacts

Wife and both use contacts in two separate user accounts. She has an "iCloud" list down sidebar as well as a "Christmas Card" list. When I want to add a card from the iCloud list (which I kind of understand to be the master list that keeps updated through iCloud) I thought I simply select the card and drag that to the Christmas Card list.

It is not allowing me to do that. The card list stays grey. If I select some cards and do a copy and paste it will work but not all of them.

As a side note, when I open up my contacts and look at sidebar I see "All Contacts" (my master) and two smaller lists I have. I am able to add contacts to the lists like I have in the past. Any thoughts why hers says iCloud and mine does not even though we have settings the same? I am the primary user. Mine functions as it should.

Ideas to fix her situation?

What I stated in the discussion...We are unable to drag a contact from her main list "iCloud" into the Christmas card list as it says I should be able to. Make sense?

see if there is anything here:

If the contacts aren’t added to the list, check if it’s a Smart List—you can’t add contacts to a Smart List."

I do understand all of that and that is what is not working. The lists I attempt to drag to stay grayed out. There is reference in article to items being in an exchange folder can only reside in one place. How do I determine which type of original folder they are in?

Exchange is Microsof365
