Dual physical sim cards on iPhone 13.

If I correctly understand things, the iPhone 13 can support dual sim cards with the second one being either an e-sim or a physical sim card.

On my new iPhone 13 here in France, the sim tray supports only one sim card. The sales person at my (carrier) store said I should request an e-sim from my operator for the second line. What I would like to do is just install the second physical sim card that I have.

Can this be done? Do I need to get a sim card tray that can hold two cards? (I see them available online.)
