iPhone dictation adding random commas after update

When using the iPhone's dictation in a text message, it inserts random comma punctuations into my sentences even if I did not state for a comma to be inserted. The commas being inserted are not grammatically correct, so this does not appear to be as a result of an auto correct function. This began after I upgraded to IO 16. Does anyone know why this is happening?

This was annoying me significantly as well, but I just realized you can thankfully manually turn it off by going to settings, general, keyboard and dictation and turning off auto-punctuation. I’m so glad, because it was getting on my last nerve since I used dictation so often and had to “fix” virtually everything I ever dictated.

Getting commas and periods after every word wow dictating text, and speaking exactly the same as I had been previously so, something has changed. I saw somewhere a mention of smart punctuation, but why should one need to change this when it worked perfectly previously? If someone has an answer to a question, a simple response would be appreciated. Hopefully we might discover why this is happening. An update will probably fix this, I suspect.

What a most helpful reply.

Most people look for an answer to a question and have not the time to read every response in detail to a topic. My iOS devices suddenly started putting commas or periods after every word, and without significant pauses in speaking, dictating exactly as I had been previously. Something changed. If you have a response to address the question, a simple answer is appreciated. Something difficult to find on the Internet these days.

I read all of this discussion, and yes turned off smart punctuation. Now, if there's even a very slight pause the microphone turns off and stops taking any more dictation. Have to keep turning the microphone on to finish a phrase or sentence. Again, this is something new and did not occur previously. Best, Seth

I don't know what to tell you. I'm not seeing that. I have to pause for about 5-10 seconds at least before the microphone turns off.

I am having an extreme problem with voice to text dictation. It puts random commas everywhere, it capitalizes letters that do not need to be capitalized, it uses words that are completely unknown to mankind, it spellchecks correct words into misspelled words, it uses words that are not at all like what I said, it changes words when it does not like what I am dictating, it leaves out every other word I am saying even when speaking slowly, put random spacing between words...it is just a messy situation that causes me to have to go back and completely re-grammar and re-punctuation what is written after my dictation. I'm wondering how a company can put little tiny computers on someone's wrist, but they cannot program an appropriate voice to text dictation feature. It is ironic that I'm using voice to text now, and it is working completely correctly. Why is that? If this is how AI is supposed to be, I think we are all doomed.
