I have an eight year old iMac that you strictly for Film Maker. I need to buy a DVD ripper program for this computer. Any suggestions

You can use Handbrake which is freeware and works pretty well. The standard paid for app that does ripping and quite a bit more is Roxio Toast.

Are you wanting to rip commercial DVD's?
Generally they don't look to "buy" if they are planning on engaging in copyright theft. 8^)
Yes, I know however not all are mindful of copyright laws.
No not copyright theft lol I’m a filmmaker these are films arrives on that are on DVD I simply want to upload them to the computer thank you very much for the response
No not commercial DVDs as I said I’m a filmmaker These are my films that I have saved on DVD. The format we shot on is antiquated now
