Overheating but fans not turning on
My Macbook Pro is running around 80C and the fans aren't turning on. I have no idea what to do. Usage is only ~8%. I mostly run Chrome which I know is a beast but I have never had an overheating problem before.

Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. This will tell you whether there are any obvious hardware issues with the temperature sensors and fans. It is not unusual for recent Intel Apple laptops to run at 65C to 90C. In fact the system will generally tend to keep the temps in this range and the fan speed may only have a minimal increase in speed.
Otherwise the laptop is most likely operating normally. These Apple laptops do tend to run hotter than the older laptops even under seemingly simple tasks, and web browsing especially with a Chromium based browser can easily cause this problem especially if the browser and/or laptop have not been rebooted in a while.
You may also have some other software issue (most likely third party software) that is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. Or perhaps even some externally connected device (less likely).
