Not receiving sms text on iPad Pro

After working with Apple techs for several hours (5-6 hours and a trip to the store), they had me erase all data as I couldn’t open the App Store. All all other attempts to correct failed. Later I found out it was something Apple needed to correct on their end. Many long hours to reinstall and sign into my apps and it turns out nothing was wrong with my device.


Now my iPad Prob(the same as above) can’t receive SMS texts and it also isn’t synching with deleted messages. My iPad Air gets them, but not my iPad Pro. I worked for 2 hours with an Apple tech and we checked all settings, reset Network Settings, Backed up, Shut down and nothing worked. She wanted me to erase data. Having gone through the App Store debacle, I refused to do this again as I found out last time it wasn’t necessary. (Just erased 2 days before I called on the SMS texting.) I don’t relish hours of work to restore my iPad Pro.


Is there something happening with iPad Pro sms texts now? Any ideas how I can get this to work?

If you have an iPhone - and both iPad and iPhone are signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID - to send SMS/MMS messages (green bubbles) from your iPad you must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your iPad on your iPhone...


On your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.


Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON
