Spotlight in Ventura

I used to be able to find all my hundreds of .psd files in spotlight. I installed Ventura and the indexing has been stuck in one spot all day as per the attached image. I have around 600GB on my 27 inch iMac.

• Is it normal to be this slow?

• If I turn the computer off, will the indexing re-commence from the same spot?

Spotlight no longer showing file locations on my Mac Only since upgrading to Ventura have I had a problem with not being able to see a file's location in the results list before selecting it to open as I have for years before. It hasn't ever worked since the upgrade. These instructions are given by Apple: Show the location of a file on your Mac: Select the file, then press and hold the Command key. The file’s location appears at the bottom of the preview. Selecting the file in the results and holding the Command key doesn't do a thing for me and shows no location at the bottom of the window.

Spotlight under macOS 10.14 Spotlight has gotten to the point of not working at all. Every time I restart it works briefly and finds things. But if I wait more than a minute or two all those results disappear as well. Empty. If I restart again, again it works for one try and any results disappear after a short period of time. I've tried the rebuild the spotlight database technique, And it seems to have had no effect except to kill off any semblance of spotlight working while it's rebuilding. FYI, I am searching for text in names, not within files. In other words I'm simply trying to find files and or folders.

We can certainly understand your concern and can help provide some insight.

Depending on the amount of data that needs to be indexed will determine how long the process will take. This can be a very long time if your data is extremely high. We see you may have already reviewed this resource, which provides the best available details on the Spotlight index: Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support

Please keep in mind if you restart the device the process may begin from scratch again.
