Disk Image First Aid Failed - Error 69842

Hi there, my Macbook Pro kept crashing, so I attempted to delete the OS and reinstall. Upon reinstalling, at the very last minute I've been receiving this: 'An error occurred loading the update'. So I went to Disk Utility & tried to repair the Disk Image locations - this is where I received the 69842 error message that suggests the Hard Drive is kaput.. Am I correct?

It's a 2016 model and no longer servicable by my nearest Apple Store, so having to explore an Apple Service Provider (none within 40 miles). Hoping someone here will spot something i'm missing and everything is going to be alright!
