help ive lost my apple watch and the play a sound feature isn't working

basically, about two months ago i moved house and i am 100% certain i didn't leave my apple watch there however i haven't seen it since and i dont remember what box i packed it in. I have unpacked all the boxes it in theory would be in and it's not in them. so i tried using find my iphone however there's no location found, so i tried to 'play a sound' and it says

'connecting' before about thirty seconds later theres a seperate pop up that says 'sound pending... will play when connected'. on multiple occasions i've left it loading for a long time and nothing comes of it so mostly i just want to know why the sound can't connect. i presume the watch has ran out of battery so im not surprised it cant track it but i thought, from youtube tutorials of this situation, the play sound feature should still work.

An Apple watch must be powered on and connected to a network for it to play a sound. The chances of a watch lost for two months having any power left is less than zero. At this point your only hope of finding your watch is the old fashioned look for it way.
