16.1.2 No music list showing in Watch app on iPhone for apple watch

I recently updated to 16.1.2 and now when I want to add music to my apple watch I add it through the watch app on my phone but after adding it disappears from the list - no list is shown. The music however shows up on my apple watch but I have no way of deleting it or changing it through the watch app on my phone because the watch app doesn't display any of the music that is uploaded to the watch. Anyone else experience this or have a solution?

The problem is not the watch showing the music. It is with the Watch app on the iPhone not showing what music is uploaded to the watch. There is no list to show what albums or playlists you have selected to upload onto the watch - as there used to be before the most recent iOS update

I can add content to my watch via the Watch app on my phone but it does not show up in the app. There is no list in the app to show what I have added or what the content is on my watch. Only when I go to my Apple Watch can I see what is on it. As such, I cannot edit/remove content on my watch via the Watch app. I have tried restarting and even resetting the Watch and phone but still no list appears in the Watch app on my phone.

mccreatr,

To clarify, when you open the Watch app on your iPhone and go to Music, you're unable to add content? If we understood that correctly we'd recommend trying to restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch. This can sometimes help with minor software issues. From there you'll want to follow this guide:

"Add music using your iPhone

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap My Watch, then tap Music.
  3. Below Playlists & Albums, tap Add Music.
  4. Select albums and playlists to sync to your Apple Watch."

Hello mccreatr,

Based on what you've shared we believe that the following user guide can help: Add music to Apple Watch - Apple Support

"Add music using your Apple Watch

  1. Open the Music app  on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap Listen Now or Search, then navigate to music you want to add.
  3. Tap a playlist or album, tap the More button, then tap Add to Library.
  4. A message confirms that the item was added.
  5. Note: You can stream music you add to Apple Watch when you have an internet connection. To play music when you’re not connected to the internet, you must first download it.
  6. To download the music to Apple Watch, tap the More button again, then tap Download."

If this behavior does not happen as expected after all updates and restarts we'd recommend reaching out to support in your region. You can do so here: Apple Support

Regards.
