Apple devices linked to one ID always losing WiFi

Hi,

I have had the strangest problem for years now and have not found a solution.

My partner's Apple devices (Mac, different iPhones over the years, iPads) often and regularly lose the Wifi connection. My iPhones are however fine, and all the Windows computers also have never had any issues. Over the years we have lived in 2 different locations in the US, with different internet providers and different modems/routers, and we now experience the same issues (though much! worse) in Switzerland.

Given the fact that my Apple devices have never had any issues, and my partner's problems have occurred across her devices and also after having changed iPhones, that let's me conclude that it must be linked to her Apple ID -- has anyone any clue what the reason could be and how to fix that???

Her devices are an iPhone 8, and one of her iPads is only half a year old, the other is like 4 years. Her iMac is about 4 years old.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

thanks. None of showed any real difference.

But I did find the solution, though the source of the problem, which I continue to believe has something to do with the linked Apple ID, eludes me.

The solution was to turn off WiFi 6 on the FRITZ!Box router and just have it run in WiFi 4 and 5. Security settings remained on WPA2 (elsewhere I read that WPA3 May cause troubles, in case someone has similar issues).

Thanks!

Hello LeRoi_2000,

If the issue is persistent to one persons devices across multiple locations there is likely a difference in the settings or preferences of the devices. We'd like to share some resources that can help you compare and contrast settings.

Hello LeRoi_2000,

It sounds like you may have found a solution already. In which case, that's great!

This may also occur when the device(s) are using a VPN or security software, as these cause connection issues. If that's the case, you'd need to have her follow these steps to solve it: Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues

Use the following for your recommended router settings: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Hoping this helps out, take care.
