Netflix / Disney+ in browser on Apple TV 3rd Gen

When I try to watch Netflix or Disney+ via my Apple TV, from my MBA M1, in Safari or Firefox, it will not show the image (only sound is playing). Even on the built-in display, there is no image until I disconnect my computer from my Apple TV.

I understand this used to work before, so what is going on? I assume this to be some HDCP issue, correct?

Is there any way to work around this?

For Netflix it´s not too bad, as it will play from the ATV, but Disney+ doesn´t.

The ATV runs the latest OS, as does the MBA (Ventura).

From Disney’s website:

Supported AirPlay Devices

Disney+ supports AirPlay across the following devices:

  • Apple TV (3rd and 4th generation or later) with tvOS 12.0 and higher
  • TVs compatible with AirPlay 2

Learn more about how to use AirPlay here.

Note: Due to a technical issue, streaming Disney+ Basic (With Ads) via Apple Airplay may not be currently available.

So is your Disney+ subscription Basic?
